Spencer is a shrewd industrial ecologist with ten years experience in the environmental consultancy industry half of which at team leadership level. He is currently studying for a Doctor of Philosophy Degree. He holds a Master of commerce degree in Strategic Management, a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Ecology and Environmental Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Technology. He is a bonafide member of the Environmental Professionals Council of Zimbabwe. He is an all-rounder and has executed various environmental services chief amongst them, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Plans, Air quality assessments, Environmental remediation and Environmental monitoring.

Spencer has conducted and led more than 70 successful Environmental and Social Impact Assessments for various projects including housing developments, mining, renewable energy, and infrastructure development among others. He also has rich experience in ISO Systems development and Implementation in particular Environmental Management System ISO 14001:2015 and Occupational Health and Safety Management System ISO 45001:2018. He has also participated in monitoring and evaluation of various projects and programs.

Spencer is also a regional (Southern Africa) environmental expert for the Indian based KBS Certification services company which validates CDM and Climate Change Projects.
